cruise-aiders.com

Updated April 2010
Welcome to the Cruise-aider's website, which I established to act as a co-ordination point for fellow yachties who get a buzz out of helping others.
As yachties we probably visit many places not on the regular tourist map, places which are often in need of some sort of aid. In my travels aboard "SY Caesura' in the Pacific I've seen many yachties provide clothing, food, medicines and school resources as well as giving practical help fixing engines, chainsaws, outboards, water tanks etc.
Then there are the more complex projects, e.g. building trading boats, houses and schools. It is this type of project that can benefit from using this website to help with logistics of materials, donations and transport and so on, as well as acting as a central point to communicate the results.

Our philosophy
Cruise-aiders.com is committed, in a culturally respectful manner, to helping people in remote areas to help themselves towards a sustainable future, through improving education and employment opportunities.
Our aim
To improve educational and employment opportunities in remote areas accessible only by sea. Financial assistance is managed via a legal non profit entity, The Yachties Foundation, which is responsible for financial investments in sustainable business projects and ensuring funds are used appropriately to support the educational aims.
2007/08 Cruise-aiders.com saw the successful conclusion of building a trading boat with islanders in the Louisiades, Papua New Guinea, teaching them fibreglassing skills. Banana Boat Project
2009/10 Cruise-aiders.com is helping a new project to build a school on Gigila Island in the Louisiades, working alongside the islanders to teach them more building skills. School Project
This site is non-denominational and non-political. It has established a charity, The Yachties Foundation, which has already invested in two commercial ventures, a Pig Farm and a Trading Store, as well as sending two young people to High School, one onto Teachers Training College, and a woman to train as a First Aid Nurse.
This website is for your use. If you wish to develop a project please contact me.
